Witold Riedel
Witold Riedel is an internationally acclaimed German conceptual artist, born in 1969 in Świętochłowice, Silesia, Poland. He studied art and visual communication at the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) in Offenbach am Main, Germany
Riedel has spent decades crafting a creative career that spans continents, working in Germany, USA, UK, China, India, and many more. His work touches upon themes of sustainability, material life, and the interconnectedness of everything.
Riedel’s unique process frequently involves exploring the cosmic relationships between human existence and the universe, which he expresses through drawings made with often unusual materials, ceramic objects and photography in which he sometimes connects hundreds of images into abstract compositions with the help of AI.
Riedel’s art has garnered him prestigious awards, including the Arte Laguna Prize in 2021. His work has been exhibited globally in venues such as the CICA Museum in Seoul, Haus der Stadtgeschichte in Offenbach, and the Heussenstamm Stiftung in Frankfurt.
Beyond his exhibitions, Riedel has contributed to various publications and conducted numerous lectures and workshops globally. His work is in collections in the Americas, Europe and East Asia.
He lives and works in Lisbon.
